We got a chance to catch up with Borgore, EDM’s king of ratchet bass, at The Marc for it’s one year anniversary celebration on 9/6/14. Our new interviewer, Torrie Blake, and Borgore briefly discussed the recent collaboration of TINCUP and Crichy Crich along with his inspiration for the track, “Hate“, off of Borgore’s latest album, #NEWGOREORDER. The track includes the lyrics, “fu*k her like I hate her”, which is something that we were pretty curious about, therefore we had to ask.
TINCUP’s recent EP, Anxiety, was just recently signed to Borgore’s label, Buygore Records, which featured the single, “Two Seat“, where our homie, Crichy Crich, throws down a verse that definitely compliments Borgore’s style of lyrical content. Since June, the track has accumulated 900K+ plays on Soundcloud and is on pace to break one million plays in the next couple of months.
Crichy Crich also threw down a couple of tracks at the tail-end of GAMMA‘s set, including TINCUP’s “Gucci Jaccuzi” featuring verses with Riff Raff and Lil Flip as well. Preceding GAMMA, who was direct support for Borgore, were sets by locals Moneta, Akreacha, and DJ Moodie who all had very solid mixes and kept the crowd raging until Borgore got every girl twerking on the dance floor and eventually on stage for the finale.
This sold out event was one of three shows that The Marc threw for their anniversary which also included performances by Travis Porter and another sold out show by Reckless Kelly. You can view a recap of all three shows below which gives you a little taste of the experiences that The Marc in San Marcos has to offer. They’ll also be hosting artists including G-Eazy, Riff Raff, DVBBS, GTA, and many more to close out the year. Some of these shows are close to selling out so make sure you visit their website at TheMarcSM.com soon so that you can grab your tickets there before they’re gone.
